Toledo Municipal Court
The Help Center is a NEW department at Toledo Municipal Court dedicated to providing support for self-represented litigants. The Help Center brings together services already offered into one department to make them more accessible, efficient, and impactful. This new department will offer professional services such as mediation, legal support (in collaboration with CLAS), and license intervention services. The Help Center will provide a wide range of educational materials and instructional guides tailored to the issues our court handles.
As the Help Center Commissioner, you will have the exciting challenge of building and managing a comprehensive program designed to empower self-represented litigants. Your leadership will shape services that support citizens involved in small claims, housing court, expungements, and driver’s license reinstatement. In this role, you will oversee staff and programs, ensuring they work cohesively to meet the diverse needs of our community. A strong commitment to education and public service is essential, as you’ll be designing resources and initiatives that simplify legal processes and make navigating the court system less intimidating. The successful candidate will have a passion for leveraging technology to expand self-help options for court users.
Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, paralegal studies, criminal justice, social work or related field and/or seven (7) years full-time experience performing supervisory responsibilities or highly responsible work relating to tasks associated with this position, or any combination of education and experience provided the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in a court system or related work experience, is required, including a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory/management experience. Demonstrated leadership and initiative, as well as a proven track record in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders required. Previous program management preferred. Starting salary is $79,200.00 annually. Full salary is $88,000.00 annually
