\"\"<\/a>On October 10th, 2024, La Voz de la Comunidad, Inc. in collaboration with Terra State Community College are sponsoring a Hispanic Heritage Month Event at the campus.<\/p>\n

The event is called \u201cEstrella Awards\u201d (Our Shining Stars). An event planned to honor four Latino Leaders who have contributed positively to our Fremont City community in the categories of Education, Government, Community Service, and Business.<\/em> The selected Honorees are as follows:<\/p>\n

Government: <\/strong>Antonio Olvera- Senior Police Officer, Fremont City Police Department<\/p>\n

Education: <\/strong>Bonnie Arguelles, M.Ed \u2013 Fremont City Schools<\/p>\n

Business:<\/strong> Felicia Obregon- El Aguila Bakery, Owner<\/p>\n

Community Service:<\/strong> Benita Blackburn- Faith-based services Victory Church & Community<\/p>\n

Their journey is unique and inspirational in how they arrived in their chosen profession.<\/p>\n

During the Awards Ceremony, a narrative about each Honoree will be given that captures their courage and strength in pursuing their professional dream and \u201cpaying it forward\u201d by volunteering in several community initiatives. Each Honoree will receive an Awards Plaque in recognition of their contribution as an exceptional community Latino Leader.<\/p>\n

ESTRELLA AWARDS EVENT in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Time: 11:00 am \u2013 11:45 am Estrella Awards Ceremony <\/strong><\/p>\n

Location: Terra State Community College <\/strong><\/p>\n

Bldg. B, Doepker Center<\/p>\n

2830 Napoleon Rd., Fremont, Ohio<\/p>\n

Luncheon: 12:00 Noon \u2013 1:00 pm <\/strong><\/p>\n

Mexican Food Buffet will be served following the Awards Event in the Atrium <\/strong><\/p>\n

Other Hispanic Heritage Month activities on campus began on September 17th organized by the Multicultural Department.<\/p>\n

The 2024 theme for National Hispanic Heritage Month: Pioneers of Change: Shaping the future together; Highlights the trailblazers who have led the way for future generations through their innovation, leadership, and unwavering dedication to progress. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
