\"\"<\/a>WATERVILLE, OH, <\/strong>October 3, 2024:\u00a0The tools have been put away and the birds are tweeting their excitement. The 5th Annual Battle of the Birdhouses<\/em> auction is underway with over 50 houses being auctioned off to raise money and win a prize.<\/p>\n

Battle of the Birdhouses<\/em> first launched in 2020 when the pandemic forced Nature\u2019s Nursery to think outside of the box to get supporters engaged and raise funds for the local non-profit wildlife rescue.\u00a0 The challenge was simple.\u00a0 Build a birdhouse and donate it to Nature\u2019s Nursery to be auctioned off as a fundraiser. The builder of the house that sells for the most wins $500 from the fundraiser sponsor, Genoa Bank.\u00a0 Although it sounds basic, the community has taken the challenge to a whole new level with their creativity, uniqueness and friendly feather slinging competition.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach year I have said that we will keep hosting this fundraiser until our supporters get bored with it and each year they outbuild themselves again\u201d said Allison Aey, Nature\u2019s Nursery Executive Director.\u00a0 . \u201cThe houses are amazing. Everything from intricate cabins and churches, Jeep themes and cottages have been submitted this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not only do individuals embrace The Battle, but this year Northview High School entered 15 houses from their art program.\u00a0 The students were extra creative with their styles and designs.<\/p>\n

The houses can be viewed on the auction site at\u00a0www.32auctions.com\/birdhouses2024<\/a>. Bidding will be open until 8pm on October 13, 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough you can see all of the houses online, you really need to see them in person to appreciate the details and creativity\u201d continued Aey.\u00a0 All of the houses are on display at Genoa Bank on Conant St during lobby hours now through the end of the auction.<\/p>\n
