TOLEDO, Ohio \u2013 The Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) has announced Adam Sanzenbacher as the 59th artist in residence for its Guest Artist Pavilion Project (GAPP). During his residency from Nov. 1-10 hosted in the TMA Glass Pavilion Hot Shop, Sanzenbacher will explore the creative potential of glass as a medium, drawing inspiration from the museum\u2019s collection and studio facilities.<\/p>\n

Sanzenbacher\u2019s residency will culminate in a free artist\u2019s talk on Friday, Nov. 8, from 6-7 p.m. in the GlasSalon located within the Glass Pavilion on the TMA campus. In this presentation, he will share insights into his artistic process, sources of inspiration and his residency experiences. Attendees are encouraged to register by visiting toledomuseum.org\/events or calling 419-255-8000.<\/p>\n

Endowed by Sara Jane DeHoff in 2006, the GAPP residency has provided a unique space for artists from across the United States and around the world to experiment with glass. The program welcomes artists from the emerging to the very established, offering them dedicated time and resources to innovate in the Glass Pavilion\u2019s renowned glass studio facilities.<\/p>\n

A native of Toledo, Sanzenbacher is a mixed-media artist and designer whose work weaves narratives informed by physics, science fiction and personal history. A 2010 graduate of Ohio State University with a BFA in drawing and painting, Sanzenbacher now focuses on three-dimensional media and ceramics. His art has been exhibited in the Columbus and Toledo areas and North Carolina.<\/p>\n

Sanzenbacher is also a member of XY&Z Art and Design Collective, a Midwest collaborative that creates experimental products, immersive multi-sensory environments and animated digital landscapes.<\/p>\n
