Me gustar\u00eda presentarme y animar a la comunidad a que me env\u00ede sus comentarios, sugerencias, preguntas, eventos, historias, obras de arte, poes\u00eda o cualquier cosa que crea que se necesita o falta en el di\u00e1logo latino. Hello! My name is Linda Alvarado-Arce,<\/em> and I am super excited about being the Editor of La Prensa, Inc.<\/em> I am a Licensed Social Worker (L.S.W.) <\/em>in the State of Ohio, a certified mediator,<\/em> a grant writer, <\/em>an educator,<\/em> an activist, and president <\/em>of Avance Latinx Acad\u00e9mico <\/em>Society (ALAS) <\/em>at Escuela SMART, <\/em>a Toledo Public School (TPS). <\/em>I am co-chair of the National Council <\/em>of the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR)- USA, <\/em>a member of EdLOC (Educational Leaders of Color),<\/em> a Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) Ambassador, <\/em>and a Scholarship Advisory Committee Member<\/em> for the Toledo Community Foundation. <\/em><\/p>\n

More importantly, I am a wife, grandmother, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and owner of the only feminist \u201cmobile\u201d bookstore in our community, known as People Called Women, LLC.<\/em> I have a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) <\/em>and a Master\u2019s in Education (M.Ed<\/em>.). I have authored numerous articles in academic journals and this very newspaper in the past. I have co-authored \u201cTeachers\u2019 Cultural and Professional Identities and Student Outcomes\u201d<\/em> in the International Guide to Student Achievement<\/em> textbook edited by John Hattie & Eri M. Anderman (Routledge, 2013). I have taught at the University of Toledo (UT)<\/em> & Bowling Green State University (BGSU)<\/em> on multiculturalism and schools in the U.S., worked for city government, and spoken publicly about my passions from the local, national, and international levels- and in countries like Poland, Germany, Mexico, and numerous states throughout the U.S. I look forward to seeing, hearing, supporting, and writing about what like-minded individuals, organizations, institutions, and community events are doing for and with our Latinx community.<\/p>\n

\u00a1Hola! Mi nombre es Linda Alvarado-Arce y estoy muy emocionada de ser la Editora de La Prensa, Inc. Soy trabajadora social licenciada (L.S.W.) en el estado de Ohio, mediadora certificada, redactora de subvenciones, educadora, activista y presidenta de Avance Latinx Acad\u00e9mico Society (ALAS) en Escuela SMART, una escuela p\u00fablica de Toledo (TPS). Lo que es m\u00e1s importante, soy esposa, abuela, madre, hermana, t\u00eda, amiga y propietaria de la \u00fanica librer\u00eda “m\u00f3vil” feminista en nuestra comunidad, conocida como People Called Women, LLC.
