On Friday, February 28, 2025, three of Lucas County\u2019s Deputy Sheriffs RETIRED. In the photo are the three retirees: Deputy Sheriff Clyde Martinez, Deputy Sheriff Lisa Cruz, and Deputy Sheriff Gabriel Torres. Deputy Sheriff Gabriel Torres is the brother of Deputy Sheriff Usevio (Chevo) Torres. Chevo is also president of Latins United, a South Toledo social and cultural organization. When asked about how he felt about his brother\u2019s retirement, he said he was happy for his brother and his retirement. He said, \u201cHe has always looked up to his brother and has followed in his footsteps from Pilliod Cabinet Company to BAX Global to working together at the Sheriff\u2019s Office.\u201d At a time when the world needs Latinxs in professional and enforcement positions, this loss of three Latinx Lucas County Deputy Sheriffs will truly be felt. Congratulations to the retirees.<\/p>\n
