After last week\u2019s nationwide \u201cHands Off\u201d protest and march, the Farm Labor Organizing Committee (FLOC) will lead a March & Rally for immigration reform in Toledo, Ohio, on May 3, 2025. People are asked to gather at 2 pm in the parking lot behind the McDonald\u2019s on South & Broadway. The march will start at 2:30 pm, with a rally planned at 3 pm at Golden Rule Park, which is at the corner of Segur & Field Avenues.<\/p>\n

Golden Rule Park was named after Samuel Milton \u201cGolden Rule\u201d Jones. To gather at this park is significant because Jones was a progressive-era mayor of Toledo who believed in treating others as you would want them to treat you. He ran on issues of social justice, related specifically to helping the working class and the poor. For more information visit the American Oil & Gas Historical Society (www.aoghs.org).<\/p>\n

Tras la protesta y marcha nacional “Manos Fuera” de la semana pasada, el Comit\u00e9 Organizador de Trabajadores Agr\u00edcolas (FLOC) liderar\u00e1 una Marcha y Mitin por la reforma migratoria en Toledo, Ohio, el 3 de mayo de 2025. Se invita a la gente a reunirse a las 2 p.m. en el estacionamiento del McDonald’s en South y Broadway. La marcha comenzar\u00e1 a las 2:30 p.m. y el mitin es a las 3 p.m. en el Parque Golden Rule, en la esquina de las avenidas Segur y Field.<\/p>\n

El Parque Golden Rule recibi\u00f3 su nombre en honor a Samuel Milton “Golden Rule” Jones. Reunirse en este parque es significativo, ya que Jones fue un alcalde de Toledo de la era progresista que cre\u00eda en tratar a los dem\u00e1s como uno quisiera que lo trataran a uno. Se postul\u00f3 con temas de justicia social, espec\u00edficamente relacionados con la ayuda de los trabajadores y a los de bajos ingresos.
