This is especially true during this season- Spring! People come from all over the world with their binoculars, and the hopes of catching a glimpse of the beautiful warblers. In fact, this area is known as the “Warbler Capital of the World,” according to the Destination Toledo website. And Toledo has many places you can visit to see them such as Howard Marsh Metropark, Oak Openings Preserve Metropark, Metzger Marsh Wildlife Area, Magee Marsh Wildlife Area, and Manhattan Marsh Preserve Metropark. In fact, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, I caught up with students from Toledo Public Schools’ Chase STEMM Academy and the Black Swamp Bird Observatory as student ambassadors gave a tour to a group of people through Manhattan Marsh Preserve Metropark, which is located at 510 Clifford Street in Toledo, Ohio, and as they welcomed bird watchers to this area. The Black Swamp Bird Observatory is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bird research, education, and conservation.
