The Mariachi Alebrijes of Toledo Public Schools (TPS), Escuela SMART Academy, had their last day of practice for this academic year this past Wednesday, May 21, 2025. And to celebrate their Mariachi instructor, Juan Romero, celebrated their hard work with a cake, pizza, and musical fellowship. If your child attends Escuela and is interested in learning to play and sing in a Mariachi ensemble, please contact the ALAS board president, Dr. Linda Alvarado-Arce @ 419-787-0008 or email her at linda@laprensa1.com<\/a> or contact the school @ 419-671-5550. Learning to play and sing mariachi music is great for brain development and memory improvement. Mariachi music offers a unique, to Mexicans and many other Latin American cultures, blend of cultural connection, musical skill development, and social benefits for the students that participate in such a program. More importantly, it keeps students busy and out of trouble. If you are interested in volunteering in this program, please also contact Dr. Linda Alvarado-Arce. Volunteers are always welcomed and needed.<\/p>\n

El Mariachi Alebrijes de las Escuelas P\u00fablicas de Toledo (TPS), Escuela SMART Academy, tuvo su \u00faltimo d\u00eda de pr\u00e1ctica de este a\u00f1o acad\u00e9mico el mi\u00e9rcoles 21 de mayo de 2025. Para celebrar, su instructor de Mariachi, Juan Romero, celebr\u00f3 con un pastel, pizza, y una sesi\u00f3n musical. Si su hijo\/a asiste a la escuela y est\u00e1 interesado\/a en aprender a tocar y cantar en un conjunto de Mariachi, por favor, comun\u00edquese con la presidenta de la junta directiva de ALAS, la Dra. Aprender a tocar y cantar m\u00fasica de mariachi es excelente para el desarrollo cerebral y la mejora la memoria. La m\u00fasica de mariachi ofrece una combinaci\u00f3n \u00fanica, tanto para los mexicanos como para muchas otras culturas latinoamericanas, de conexi\u00f3n cultural, desarrollo de habilidades musicales, y tiene beneficios sociales para los estudiantes que participan en este programa.
