Having spent weeks there, I understand why so many want to buy, live, work, or play in Puerto Rico. This unincorporated U.S. territory is surrounded by mountains and beaches. It is the only U.S. national park located within a rainforest and features islands off the main island. It’s a beautiful place filled with beautiful people, food, music, and culture. In fact, Bad Bunny currently has a summer concert residency in Puerto Rico titled “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí,” which is attracting significant tourism and revenue to the island. His residency is projected to generate $200 million for the Puerto Rican economy. The concert series is expected to bring over 600,000 fans to the island, boosting demand for flights, hotels, and other tourist activities. This 30-show residency is taking place at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, starting on July 11th, with additional dates open to all in August and September.

Bad Bunny’s music, videos, and public statements often address issues facing Puerto Rico, including political challenges, cultural preservation, and the impact of gentrification. He has used his platform to advocate for the Puerto Rican diaspora and immigrant community, speaking out against ICE raids and other issues. Bad Bunny’s work frequently incorporates Puerto Rican culture, music, and traditions, highlighting the island’s rich heritage. Puerto Rico is a great example of how bilingualism can and does work.

Puerto Rico NO ESTÁ EN VENTA y Bad Bunny dice: “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí,” con su residencia de conciertos de verano en San Juan

Por la Dra. Linda Alvarado Arce

By Dr. Linda Alvarado-Arce Puerto Rico is NOT FOR SALE, nor is it an island of garbage!
