On June 24th, 2025, Cecilio D. Garcia, lovingly known as \u201cCisco,\u201d peacefully passed on to a new life at the age of 73. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in every mural, every memory, and every life he touched with his boundless creativity and love.<\/p>\n

Born January 12th, 1953, to Alberto and Antonia Garcia, Cisco was the third of nine siblings: Martha Sifuentes, Ruben Garcia, Maria Delgado, Delia Lopez, Rick Garcia, Juanita Thompson, Daniel Garcia, and Elisa Stevens. He was a proud and devoted father to three daughters: Angela Garcia, Alicia Garcia-Allen, and Michelle Marinski. His legacy continues through his grandchildren \u2014 Lamont Garcia, Tatiana Garcia, Jacob Demecs, Kyantae Moore, Kyreese Moore, Zachariah Allen, and Gabriel Allen \u2014 and great-grandchildren Ayna\u2019Laila Grays, Aubree Moore, and Essence Moore.<\/p>\n

Cisco was a legendary artist and muralist whose work brought color and culture to the Toledo area. Beginning in 1969, his vibrant murals gave voice to community pride and heritage \u2014 especially throughout the Broadway neighborhood. His talent earned national recognition, and in 2016, he received the Distinguished Artist Award at the 5th Annual Barrio Latino Art Festival for his mural work and lasting contributions to the Latino community. His art didn\u2019t just decorate walls \u2014 it told stories and brought people together.<\/p>\n

Despite all his accomplishments, Cisco remained humble and incredibly selfless. He was the kind of man who would lend a hand without hesitation, offer wisdom with a smile, and light up any room with his vibrant personality. Whether as a father, grandfather, brother, son, cousin, uncle, or friend, he gave love freely and made everyone feel like family.<\/p>\n

Those who knew Cisco will remember his joyful spirit, deep compassion, and unstoppable drive to create. He had a way of transforming empty spaces into living, breathing celebrations of heritage, identity, and beauty. His legacy is not only painted on the walls of his city but etched into the hearts of all who knew him.<\/p>\n

While we feel the sadness of his passing, we celebrate the joy of his life. Cisco didn\u2019t just live \u2014 he made the world around him more beautiful. And that beauty will never fade.<\/p>\n

A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass Ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 9th, 2025, at 11:00 AM
