It has free parking and no entrance fee, and I personally have attended this event since 1994, when I was completing my bachelor’s degree there. This event has always been filled with people, food, the smell of kettle corn, music all around, children running around in the grassy area, tons of art, art done by youth and adults, jewelry made of glass, metals, wood, crafts, photography, clothing, everyday items, and community resource tables. This year’s event, and I know that I arrived at 2 p.m., was just not the same. I mean, it was the same in terms of having vendors and food trucks, but not the same in energy, smell, feel, or even in clientele, and it had no children running around in the grassy areas. It did have, which I loved, a protest march that went down the middle of the art fair with people chanting and holding signs up that advocated for ending “U.S. Aid for War Crimes,” to “End U.S.-Israeli GENOCIDE,” to “STOP THE GENOCIDE ON GAZA NOW,” and advocating for kids to be in school “NOT GRAVES” (see photos). When I arrived at the event, I also noticed a diversity in vendors, music, and food trucks, but not in visitors, as I have witnessed in the past. The vendors that were there, however, were of top quality and ranged from woodworking (as seen in the photo) by Tony’s Creative Carvings, to the Latina jewelry artist, Sarah Speer of Artfelt Studios (in photo), and Paul Lyon of LyonArt with his beautiful paintings (in photo), to even Rick Flores (in photo) playing the acoustic guitar. Sadly, however, the people in attendance were missing. Hopefully next year things at the university improve.

UToledo’s Art on the Mall Sunday, July 27, 2025 By Dr. Linda Alvarado-Arce UToledo’s Art on the Mall event this year took place on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is an “annual outdoor juried art fair” that has been celebrated in the center of The University of Toledo’s main

[6

268
post-11978","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-articles
["https://laprensanewspaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1utart.jpg",700,401,false
https://laprensanewspaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1utart.jpg",700,401,false
https://laprensanewspaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1utart.jpg",700,401,false
https://laprensanewspaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1utart-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://laprensanewspaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1utart-300x172.jpg",300,172,true
https://laprensanewspaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1utart.jpg",640,367,false],"1536x1536":["https://laprensanewspaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1utart.jpg",700,401,false],"2048x2048":["https://laprensanewspaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1utart.jpg",700,401,false
https://laprensanewspaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1utart.jpg",700,401,false
https://laprensanewspaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1utart-320x240.jpg",320,240,true
https://laprensanewspaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1utart-150x105.jpg",150,105,true
https://laprensanewspaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1utart-500x401.jpg",500,401,true
https://laprensanewspaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1utart-45x45.jpg",45,45,true
["GET
