Adopt America Network<\/em> is a non-profit adoption organization founded in 1983 by Richard K. Ransom. The mission is to improve the lives of adoptable children in the United States foster care system by placing them with permanent, loving families. Adopt America Network focuses on placing children with special needs, older children, and sibling groups, who often face greater challenges in finding adoptive families. To properly support families, a range of services are provided, including but not limited to free home study completion, free matching services, and post-placement supervision. Another service is the OAKS program which provides an in-person and online support group, as well as other education and support services. Adopt America Network also partners with the Dave Thomas foundation to have Wendy\u2019s Wonderful Kid recruiters who are extra support in foster youth lives while searching for permanency for the children. Through its various programs and initiatives, Adopt America Network strives to raise awareness about the needs of children in foster care and to promote adoption as a viable option for building families.
