But this year’s masquerade celebration brings something new: Community Awards that highlight the changemakers lifting neighborhoods, influencing policy, and empowering youth.

Recognize What Matters

These new awards aim to spotlight real impact:

Community Impact Award — for individuals or groups delivering measurable benefits to underserved communities through inclusive economic projects.

Policy & Advocacy Award — honoring those who create systemic change in procurement, equity policy, or business inclusion.

Youth Entrepreneurship Award — for visionary young innovators fueling solutions and leadership.

This year’s Gala isn’t just a celebration, however. OMSDC is providing a platform. The organization is actively expanding the tent. Where traditionally the OMSDC’s Gala has attracted 300+ attendees, this year the target is 500 business executives, community leaders, policy makers, and you. Collecting so many decision-makers in one room for a spectacular evening is meant to renew commitment to minority business opportunities, as well as spark new ideas and relationships.

The Important Impact of Minority Businesses

When a minority business lands a big contract, it’s not just theirs—it turns into jobs, opportunity, and investment in stronger neighborhoods. In Ohio, OMSDC’s 494 certified minority business enterprises (MBEs) generate over $7.4B in revenue, support 56,948 jobs, and contribute $1.3B in tax revenue. That’s real community impact.

In an environment where diversity initiatives face scrutiny, this Gala is an act of affirmation—showing Ohio that inclusion is not a concession, but a driver of strength.

Join Us—And Make Your Mark

We urge you to nominate someone who inspires you—a neighbor, nonprofit leader, or entrepreneur making strides. Nominations are open through October 14 (11:59 p.m.). Self-nominations welcome.

Better yet: come to Cleveland and be part of the evening. You’ll join 500+ business leaders, public officials, community organizations, and innovators for a night of recognition and connection.

Special offer: Use code COLLAB25 to get $200 off your general admission ticket. Valid through October 31.

OMSDC wants to make this an event Ohio remembers, as we come together to share our voice, share our strength, and let our leaders know they need to continue advocating for us and our communities. We hope this Gala will be more than an event.
