Raices (Roots) is a screen-printing brand that specializes in Chicano t-shirts and tote bags. I met the artist Anthony Ortega (see picture), at the Latino Education and Advocacy Days (LEAD), “Telling Our Stories – Our Way, Our Voice: Latino Representation in the Arts, Media, and Education\u201d\u00a0Summit XIV<\/em> that was held at California State University, San Bernadino (CSUSB), a few weeks back. Mr. Ortega\u2019s t-shirts and tote bags are reflective of his commitment and knowledge of our Chicano civil rights history and our beauty. Currently, Mr. Ortega has two of his designs up for sale: “Chicano Power” & “Chicana: Brown is Beautiful” (see photos). If you are interested in speaking to him, purchasing a t-shirt or a bulk number of t-shirts, in purchasing tote bags, or simply interested in seeing all his works, colors, and available sizes, you can call him at 909-331-9196 and pay via Zelle and or Venmo. Mr. Ortega is also a lecturer and public speaker on the Chicano movement, history, and our Chicano \u201croots\u201d on the west coast of the U.S.<\/p>\n
