In collaboration with WGTE, La Prensa, Inc. presents La Prensa HABLA (LPH), a new bilingual series that explores Latinx culture in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.<\/p>\n

La Prensa HABLA\u2019s 1st Show: One Life, Many Voices, and the Launching of La Prensa HABLA<\/em> is set to air on January 6th, 2025, @ 7 pm via WGTE\u2019s \u201cThe Local Thread\u201d and can be heard on 91 FM, WGTE.org, or on any of your favorite podcasting stations. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Our first show<\/u> will have local musician\/singer, Yvonne Ramos of Yvonne Y Fuego & composer\/songwriter, Jacob Estrada, who wrote La Prensa HABLA\u2019s theme song that Yvonne Ramos sings, \u201cQue La Vida Es Sola Una.\u201d<\/p>\n

La Prensa, Inc. is the oldest and largest weekly, bilingual, Spanish\/English, Latinx newspaper in Ohio & Southeast Michigan. La Prensa HABLA via public media- WGTE is an extension of the newspaper and will start with 13 culturally and linguistically appropriate educational discussions that revolve around the Latinx, bilingual culture in Northwest Ohio and Southwest Michigan. These episodes will share stories and news about our Latinx culture, history, and local community. Listeners, in addition, will learn to make a food dish from our Latinx culture and pick up Spanish word\/s for the week. La Prensa HABLA will cover, as does the newspaper, cultural, educational, political, and social topics that includes everything from current local, national and international news topics that affect our current state of Latinxs from our agricultural farmworker\u2019s life to life at the Northern U.S.-Canadian border, Latinxs in academia and writers, and our current and past Latinx history in the Americas bilingually.<\/p>\n
