Dr. Ayendy Bonifacio\u2019s book, Dique Dominican,<\/em> is finally out, and the book release presentation was held at The University of Toledo (UToledo) on February 12, 2026. Dique Dominican <\/em>is a memoir of Dr. Bonifacio\u2019s life, including his upbringing as a Dominican in Brooklyn, New York, and his migration to the U.S. as a child. The presentation began with Dr. Bonifacio\u2019s wife introducing him, and with him reading powerful and very emotional pages from his book about his relationship with his father. Dr. Bonifacio is a professor of English at The University of Toledo and has also authored the books To the River<\/em> and We Are Migrants. <\/em>He has appeared in The New York Times and the Los Angeles Review of Books. He is a writer, poet, and academic who writes about his memories, migration, race\/ethnicity, and colonialism in the U.S. During his presentation, he even quoted from his book, Dique Dominican, <\/em>bell hooks, and Audre Lorde. If you are looking for a new book to read, I highly recommend this one.<\/p>\n
