{"id":13575,"date":"2026-04-15T13:56:49","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T13:56:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/?p=13575"},"modified":"2026-04-15T13:56:49","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T13:56:49","slug":"lucas-county-children-services-lccs-holds-april-community-conversation-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/index.php\/2026\/04\/15\/lucas-county-children-services-lccs-holds-april-community-conversation-program\/","title":{"rendered":"LUCAS COUNTY CHILDREN SERVICES (LCCS) HOLDS APRIL COMMUNITY CONVERSATION PROGRAM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/LCCS-Horizontal-3C-copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-13576 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/LCCS-Horizontal-3C-copy-300x121.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"121\" srcset=\"https:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/LCCS-Horizontal-3C-copy-300x121.jpg 300w, https:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/LCCS-Horizontal-3C-copy.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>A continuing series of discussions about safe children and safe families.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(TOLEDO \u2013 April 9, 2026) Lucas County Children Services (LCCS), the county agency responsible for leading the community in the protection of children, is sponsoring another in its ongoing series of &#8220;community conversations,&#8221; to be held <strong>Monday, April 27, from 5 pm to 7 pm, at the Sanger Branch Library (3030 West Central Avenue, Toledo 43606).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These <strong>FREE <\/strong>open conversations begin with the topic of <em>Safe Children, Safe Families. <\/em>LCCS staff, along with representatives of other community agencies, will discuss many of the concerns that families experience today and the options that families and caregivers have to prevent child abuse and neglect.<\/p>\n<p>Presentations include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>LCCS Department of Family Services<\/li>\n<li>YWCA Parent Ambassadors<\/li>\n<li>Careportal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Information will also be provided about the role that LCCS plays in keeping children safe, and the ways that other members of the community \u2013 safety forces, educators, family, neighbors, and others &#8212; share in the overall responsibility to protect children. &#8220;We are committed to making sure that caregivers understand what to do if they suspect that a child is experiencing maltreatment, and how all parties can maintain open lines of communication to resolve the factors that put children at risk of harm,&#8221; explains Hope Bland, Ph.D., LCCS director of diversity, equity, inclusion, and strategy. &#8220;These conversations have become a vital exchange of information. Attendees are being educated on what LCCS and community partners can offer children and families.
