These peaceful events include prayer, reflection, and brief speaking programs.\u00a0Participants are calling for an <strong>end to ICE detention, transparency in detention facility funding, and an end to 287(g) agreements.\u00a0<\/strong>Community members are encouraged to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohioishome.org\/events\/may-30-prayer-vigils\">attend a vigil near them<\/a> or organize one in their area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHO:<\/strong> Faith leaders and interfaith clergy; local organizers; and community members<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHEN: <\/strong>May 23 \u2013 May 30, 2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHERE:<\/strong> Vigils will take place outside each ICE detention facility in Ohio.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Geauga County Jail \u2014 <strong>May 28, 7:00 PM\u20138:30 PM<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Mahoning County Jail (Youngstown) \u2014 <strong>May 28, 6:00 PM<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Butler County Jail (Hamilton) \u2014 <strong>May 30, 3:00 PM\u20135:00 PM<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Northeast Ohio Correctional Center \u2014 <strong>May 30, 1:00 PM<\/strong> in the gravel lot north of the facility entrance<\/li>\n<li>Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio (CCNO) \u2014 <strong>May 30, 4:00 PM<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHY: <\/strong>People across Ohio are uniting to shine a light on the realities of immigration detention and to demand dignity, transparency, and justice for all people.
