Roughly 90 to 100 community members from across the region attended. They sang songs of solidarity, prayed for those in the detention center and across our nation, and spiritual and community leaders spoke out against human rights violations occurring inside of CCNO, i.e., lack of medical care, family separation, and lack of due process. The group demanded:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A call for the creation of an independent immigrant detainee ombudsman to monitor: medical care, due process protections, release timelines, and detainee grievances at CCNO.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The CCNO Board to rescind its bed agreement with ICE.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The CCNO oppose the expansion of the 287(g) agreements and urges all counties and local agencies not to enter into ICE cooperation contracts.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/protest-3-copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-25922 size-medium alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/protest-3-copy-203x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"203\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/protest-3-copy-203x300.jpg 203w, https:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/protest-3-copy-695x1024.jpg 695w, https:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/protest-3-copy.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 203px) 100vw, 203px\" \/><\/a>The 287(g) agreements are formalized partnerships, under the Immigration and Nationality Act, that delegate federal immigration enforcement powers and authority to local and state law enforcement. The CCNO is a regional detention center located in Stryker, Ohio. It serves Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lucas, and Williams counties.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you need information about a detainee who is held at CCNO, you can call (419) 428-3800 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. (EST). <\/strong>When calling, have the person\u2019s name, date of birth, and place of birth. Linda Alvarado-Arce<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Stryker, Ohio)- El pasado s\u00e1bado 30 de mayo a las 16:00 horas se celebr\u00f3 una vigilia de oraci\u00f3n interreligiosa para inmigrantes afuera del Centro de Correcciones del Noroeste de Ohio (CCNO) en Stryker, Ohio. Asistieron entre 90 y 100 miembros de la comunidad y de toda la regi\u00f3n. Cantaron canciones de solidaridad, rezaron por quienes estaban en el centro de detenci\u00f3n y en todo nuestro pa\u00eds, y l\u00edderes espirituales y comunitarios se manifestaron contra las violaciones de derechos humanos que ocurren dentro del CCNO, es decir, la falta de atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica, la separaci\u00f3n familiar y la falta de debido proceso.
