Saturday, Apr 30, 2022: The\u00a0Columbus Crew<\/a><\/em>\u00a0snapped a lengthy goalless streak \u2013 while halting their winless skid across all competitions at six \u2013 as they defeated\u00a0D.C. United<\/a>\u00a03-0 at Lower.com Field on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

It was the first win for Columbus since a 2-1 victory over\u00a0Toronto FC<\/a>\u00a0on March 12, with the club scoring for the first time in MLS play since a stoppage-time tally against the\u00a0New York Red Bulls<\/a>\u00a0on March 20.<\/p>\n

The Crew ended their scoring drought with an AT&T 5G Goal of the Week candidate in the 28th minute, as\u00a0Pedro Santos<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>beat flat-footed D.C. goalkeeper\u00a0Jon Kempin<\/a><\/em>\u00a0with a laser free kick to give Columbus a 1-0 lead.\u00a0Derrick Etienne<\/a><\/em>\u00a0later doubled the margin on the back of a perfect long pass from\u00a0Josh Williams<\/a><\/em>\u00a0to make it 2-0 just before the half.<\/p>\n

Darlington Nagbe<\/a><\/em>\u00a0provided the exclamation point for Columbus with a Goal of the Week candidate of his own in the 75th minute, letting loose a ferocious volley from beyond the box as the Crew picked up their third win of the 2022 season.<\/p>\n
