Ibarra, J.D., <\/em>has previously said: \u201cJos\u00e9 embodies what C\u00e9sar Ch\u00e1vez envisioned for Latinos.\u00a0 He was a migrant farmworker for ten years.\u00a0 He worked in the GM Plant in Defiance for another 15 years.\u00a0 Many Mexican men would have been fine with that, but Jos\u00e9 attended college at <em>Bowling Green State University<\/em> and became an educator.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJos\u00e9 Luna has been an integral part of intense efforts to expand opportunities for Latino students by fostering initiatives to bring post-secondary education to our student population.\u00a0 He continues to serve an invaluable role in opening our Toledo public schools to institutions of higher learning and getting access to our Latino youth.\u00a0 What is more he has used his life to become the type of educator and man that our community so sorely needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In an earlier statement, <em>Dr. Romules L.
