2022: The San Diego Padres strolled into Comerica Park hoping to get a few interleague wins against the struggling Tigers.\u00a0 What they ran into was what many Tiger fans had hoped for \u2013 an explosive offense.\u00a0 The Tigers seen 3 hitters slam homers into the stands, with Catcher Eric Haase hitting a Grand Slam in the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> inning.<\/p>\n<p>Much was said about the Padres All-Star Third Baseman Manny Machado, who was held hitless in 4 attempts at the plate.\u00a0 Leftfielder Jurickson Profar, provided an early spark for the visiting team, hitting a solo home run in the top of the 1<sup>st<\/sup>.\u00a0 The Padres managed to score another 3 runs in the 5<sup>th<\/sup>, to make the score 4 -9.\u00a0 The final score of the game was Detroit 12, San Diego 4.<\/p>\n<p>The Tigers offense was sparked by 2 home runs from their Third Baseman \u2013 Jeimer Canelario.\u00a0 They also had homers from Miguel Cabrera and Haase.\u00a0 While Drew pitched a good game for the Tigers, striking out four he also gave up four runs.\u00a0 Middle relief pitcher Will Vest was credited with the win and is no 2-2.<\/p>\n<p>The series continues at Comerica Park with two more games.\u00a0 The Padres will return home on Friday to face the AL Central\u2019s 1<sup>st<\/sup> Place Minnesota Twins.\u00a0 The Tigers go on the road this weekend and visit the Toronto Blue Jays,
