\"\"GRAND RAPIDS, Mich, August 4, 2022: Grand Valley State University<\/em> will celebrate Shape Corp.’s<\/em> lead gift and its longstanding commitment to engineering students by naming the Innovation Design Center<\/em> for the tier-one automotive supplier.<\/p>\n

The naming ceremony for the Shape Corp. Innovation Design Center<\/em>, 227 Winter Ave. NW, was held on August 9, 2022.<\/p>\n

Grand Valley<\/em> purchased the Winter Avenue<\/em> building in 2017 to expand its engineering program. Paul Plotkowski<\/em>, dean of the\u00a0Padnos College of Engineering and Computing<\/a><\/em>, said\u00a0Shape Corp.<\/a>,<\/em> headquartered in Grand Haven<\/em>, has been one of the college’s earliest industry partners, sponsoring senior projects and hosting students for co-op opportunities.<\/p>\n

High school students who competed in FIRST Robotics<\/em> will demonstrated their entries at the event, and several senior engineering projects were displayed.<\/p>\n
