\"\"Vermilion, Ohio, <\/em>August 10, 2022: Main Street Vermilion has something to bark about this summer. It\u2019s the return of Hot Diggity Dog Day, sponsored by Harbor Town Animal Clinic, on Saturday, August 27, 11AM-2PM at Main Street Beach. The event brings friendly pooches, their owners as well as dog lovers in general together for a dog-centered event that delivers fun, pet-related vendors, games and competitions for dogs, and a rare opportunity for them to enjoy a special section of Main Street Beach for a dip in the lake.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that people are looking for activities that include their pets,\u201d said event lead. Kristine Duke \u201cand Hot Diggity Dog Day is going to be a lot of fun for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Most of the activity will be held on the portion of Main Street from Huron Street to the beach. \u201cWe\u2019re lucky for the opportunity to show off our pet-friendly beach,\u201d said Duke. \u201cThe City of Vermilion and the Parks and Recreation Department are working with us to dedicate and close off a section of the beach that day to allow dogs to swim off leash,\u201d she added. \u201cOur beaches always welcome dogs as long as they are on a leash so we know that the chance to enjoy the water in a different way will be a big attraction for the crowd.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"The event features fun games and social activities for dogs including Musical Sit and a DogStacle Course, music, dog ice cream for sale, a watering station, vendors and more. The day ends with the K9 Costume Contest. \u201cRegistrants are encouraged to be super creative in outfitting their dogs, and themselves, if so inclined,\u201d said Duke, \u201cand we\u2019ll have prizes for different categories.\u201d<\/p>\n

Complete details are available at www.mainstreetvermilion.org<\/a>\/hddd and on-line registration will be open through August 26, with the first dog at $10 and addition dogs at $5 each. Day of registration is $15. The first 125 registrants will receive a Wag Bags filled with cool dog swag.<\/p>\n
