EAST LANSING, MI, , September 10, 2022: The #14 ranked Spartans took on the visiting Akron Zips<\/em> and handedly defeated them 52-0.\u00a0 Racking up 496 total yards on a balanced offensive attack with 260 yards gained on the ground the remaining 236 in the air.<\/p>\n

MSU was led by Jr. Quarterback Payton Thorne, who threw for 212 yards and Sophomore Running Back Jalen Berger, who had 107 yards on the ground. Defensively, the Spartans were led by Ameer Speed who had 5 tackles and assisted on another 4.\u00a0 Jacoby Windmon, continued his sack attacks and had 1.5.<\/p>\n

The 21st annual Roberto Clemente Day<\/strong> takes place on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at many ballpark venues\u2014all part of Hispanic Heritage Month.<\/p>\n
