CLEVELAND \u2014 Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C\u00ae<\/sup>) has received a 2022 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from\u00a0INSIGHT Into Diversity<\/em>\u00a0magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.<\/p>\n

This is Tri-C\u2019s 10th consecutive year receiving the award, which recognizes U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very proud to be a HEED Award recipient again,\u201d said Michael Baston, president of Tri-C. \u201cThe equal justice and equity issues at the forefront of the national conversation highlight the continuing need for diversity and inclusion efforts. Tri-C is proud to do its part to advance those conversations and take action.\u201d<\/p>\n

The College will be one of 100 recipients recognized in the November 2022 issue of\u00a0INSIGHT Into Diversity<\/em>. Tri-C was one of six Ohio schools \u2014 and the only community college in the state \u2014 to earn a 2022 HEED Award.<\/p>\n

The award process consists of a comprehensive application examining various aspects of campus diversity and inclusion, from leadership support through the recruitment and retention of students and employees.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe take a detailed approach to reviewing each application when deciding who will be named a HEED Award recipient,\u201d said Lenore Pearlstein, publisher of\u00a0INSIGHT Into Diversity<\/em>\u00a0magazine. \u201cOur standards are high, and we look for institutions where diversity and inclusion are woven into the work being done every day across their campus.\u201d<\/p>\n

Created and evaluated by industry experts, the self-paced online program provides instruction on all aspects of the digital design process. Courses cover 10 core topic areas:<\/p>\n
