MONROE, Mich.: \u00a0Monroe County Community College is inviting the public along with students, faculty and staff to participate in a variety of events during the week of Jan. 16-20\u00a0in celebration of Diversity Week. All of the events and activities are free.<\/p>\n
On\u00a0Tuesday, Jan. 17,<\/strong>\u00a0MCCC hosted the annual Unity Peace March from noon – 1\u00a0p.m. Participants\u00a0 met in Downtown Monroe on the south side of the\u00a0MLK Pedestrian Bridge and\u00a0marched to the MLK\u00a0Monument in St. Mary\u2019s Park.<\/p>\n On\u00a0Wednesday, Jan. 18,\u00a0<\/strong>the college will host a Volunteer Fair in the Admissions hallway of the Warrick Student Center on Main Campus, 1555 S. Raisinville Rd., Monroe.<\/p>\n On\u00a0Friday,\u00a0Jan. 20<\/strong>\u00a0at 3 p.m.,\u00a0MCCC will host a viewing and discussion of the movie, “Citizen King.” It will be held in Room 173D of the Warrick Student Center on the Main Campus.<\/p>\n The college will\u00a0also host a presentation later in the month by National Federation for the Blind Board Member\u00a0Michael Powell, a professional musician who has been blind from birth.
