\"\"MONROE, Mich., January 17, 2023: Monroe County Community College’s Office of Lifelong Learning<\/em> will host a Culinary Open House<\/em> on January 30, 2023.<\/p>\n

At the open house, attendees will get to\u00a0enjoy a sampling of foods that they can learn how to make this semester through various noncredit workshops and classes.<\/p>\n

The event, which is free and open to the public, will run from 5:30-730 p.m. in the college’s Cuisine 1300 restaurant, which is located in the Warrick Student Center (Building A)\u00a0adjacent to the Office of Admissions and Guidance.<\/p>\n

According to Tina Pillarelli, director of Lifelong Learning, MCCC’s chef instructors will be available to answer\u00a0questions about the food being served, as well as what will be covered in the upcoming course offerings.<\/p>\n

This winter and spring, there will be eight new Lifelong Learning culinary classes, including Create a Personalized Cutting Board, Soups On II, Battle of the Wines, Special Diet\u00a0Seminar, Preserving and Canning, Taste of Greece, Taste of Spain, and Grilling and Smoking.<\/p>\n

Returning classes include\u00a0Charcuterie Board Workshop, Cooking with Beer, Cuisine Cooking — German, and Mexican Cantina.<\/p>\n

The classes cost from $99-$299 per class, and there are discounts on all of them for senior citizens.<\/p>\n

“We have a great lineup of classes this semester, and if you ever wanted to know more about our cooking classes, this is a great opportunity,” Pillarelli said. “Come prepared to sign up for our classes, as we\u2019ll have staff on hand to help you enroll. Reservations are not required, but we would love to hear that you are coming!”<\/p>\n
