\"\"DETROIT, February 7, 2023: <\/strong>Ford Motor Company<\/em> and General Motors<\/em> female employee\u00a0hockey teams return to Clark Park\u2019s<\/em> outdoor hockey rink to face off for charity Saturday, February 18. Doors open at 6:00 with puck drop by Deborah Wahl, GM Senior VP and Global Chief Marketing Officer, at 7 pm. Clark Park is located at 1130 Clark Avenue in the heart of southwest Detroit.<\/p>\n

The 5th\u00a0<\/sup>Annual\u00a0<\/strong>GM vs. Ford Automotive Cup<\/em>\u00a0will feature a game with three 15-minute periods, concessions donated by Green Dot Stables<\/em> and Motor City Brewing Works<\/em>, the wildly popular Chuck-a-Puck<\/em>, and a silent auction.<\/p>\n

All proceeds benefit Clark Park Coalition<\/em> and Matrix Theatre Company<\/em>, two nonprofits located in southwest Detroit.\u00a0 A $5 donation at the gate is suggested. For further information, or to donate online, visit\u00a0www.matrixtheatre.org<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThe team that wins the game takes home the trophy and bragging rights for the year, but the team that raises the most cash for the two charities gets naming rights for the 2024 game,\u201d said Megan Buckley-Ball<\/em>, co-founder of the event. \u201cIt\u2019s easy. Prior to game day, go to\u00a0matrixtheatre.org<\/a>, click the Donate button and help the team of your choice, Team Ford or Team GM, to raise the most money. Game attendees will have the opportunity to attribute their admission and concession donations to their favorite team, as well.\u201d In addition to the hockey game, this year\u2019s event will also include a 50\/50 raffle and some fun outdoor games.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis game is significant,\u201d said Birdie Buckley-Ball<\/em>, GM employee and co-creator of the Automotive Cup. \u201cFord and GM have each won two games apiece. This game is the grudge match. We\u2019re thrilled to have Deborah Wahl, Senior VP and global chief marketing officer dropping the puck to begin this decisive game.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re happy to be partnering again with Matrix Theatre for this event,\u201d said Clark Park Executive Director Anthony Benavides<\/em>. \u201cEach year we look forward to this great event, as we watch it grow. This year is no exception.\u201d<\/p>\n
