Randall Muth<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

TOLEDO, MARCH 1, 2023:\u00a0The Lucas County Children Services (LCCS) Board of Trustees<\/em> has selected Randall Muth<\/em>, executive director of Mahoning County Children Services<\/em>, as its preferred candidate to serve as the agency\u2019s next executive director. Mr. Muth and the board will now begin the process of negotiating an employment contract.<\/p>\n

Mr. Muth joins LCCS with 24 years of experience in child protection in Ohio. He began his career in 1999 as an attorney supervisor in the children services division of the Stark County Department of Job and Family Services and became the executive director of Wayne County Children Services in 2006. He has spent the past decade as the executive director of Mahoning County.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Muth offers child protection experience in progressively larger agencies across the state, making him the right person at the right time to lead Lucas County Children Services,\u201d said LCCS Board President Kathy V\u00e1squez<\/em>. \u201cWe are confident in his ability to continue the agency\u2019s culture of community collaboration,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Mr. Muth has a juris doctorate from the University of Akron and spent a few years in private practice. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kent State University. Mr. Muth is also a U.S. Army veteran.<\/p>\n

Mr. Muth has taken an active role in the Public Children Services Association of Ohio (PCSAO), serving as a past trustee, secretary, and chair of the legislative committee. He has participated in several state and regional panels that have influenced child welfare practice in Ohio.<\/p>\n

Donna Seed, LCCS\u2019 social services director<\/em>, has been serving as LCCS\u2019 interim executive director since November 2022, following the retirement of Robin Reese.<\/p>\n

Mr. Muth\u2019s start date has yet to be determined.<\/p>\n
