One of hope, change, new beginnings, prosperity\u2014a new way to celebrate life.\u201d\u00a0This\u00a0year\u2019s\u00a0<em>Parade the Circle<\/em> theme is\u00a0<em>Transformation\u00a0(Dragonfly\/Lib\u00e9lula).<\/em>\u00a0\u201cLike the transformation of a\u00a0dragonfly,\u00a0we all need change in our lives to grow, self-reflect\u00a0and adapt to any environment or circumstance we may face,\u201d stated\u00a0Castellanos\u00a0Lara.<\/p>\n<p>Representative of change and transformation, the dragonfly,\u00a0or\u00a0<em>\u201clib\u00e9lula,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0also\u00a0symbolizes\u00a0strength, joy,\u00a0creativity\u00a0and happiness. The theme is\u00a0meant to inspire\u00a0everyone\u00a0to\u00a0make the most of each moment in life.<\/p>\n<p>Parade participants may use the theme when creating\u00a0floats, puppets,\u00a0costumes\u00a0and performances, symbolizing change in any way they see fit.\u00a0Professional parade artists will be on hand at community workshops to help groups at the ideation,\u00a0planning, and\u00a0construction stages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow is the perfect time to start thinking about how you\u2019ll\u00a0participate\u00a0in Parade the Circle,\u201d said\u00a0<em>Stefanie Lima Taub<\/em>, director of community arts\u00a0at the CMA.\u00a0\u201cPeople of all ages and\u00a0artistic abilities\u00a0are invited and\u00a0encouraged\u00a0to take part. We want\u00a0to make this the\u00a0best,\u00a0most\u00a0memorable\u00a0Parade the\u00a0Circle\u00a0yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Parade the Circle begins at\u00a012 p.m.\u00a0from the CMA and will proceed in a counterclockwise direction around Wade Oval until it spills into the\u00a0oval in front of the museum. From 10\u00a0a.m. to 4 p.m., visitors are invited to participate in\u00a0Circle Village, presented by University Circle Inc.\u00a0Hands-on activities offered by local organizations\u00a0and live music on\u00a0the\u00a0Kulas\u00a0Community Stage are free for the whole family.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Parade the Circle\u00a0Is for Everyone<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>CAC Workshops<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday,\u00a0April\u00a08, and Sundays,\u00a0April 16\u00a0to\u00a0May\u00a07,\u00a01\u00a0to\u00a03\u00a0p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>FREE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.clevelandart.org\/learn\/community-arts\/community-arts-center\"><em>Community Arts Center (CAC)<\/em><\/a>\u00a0will host five workshops designed to introduce\u00a0the\u00a0parade to community members, provide examples of past parade ensembles, discuss design elements and talk through initial ideas.\u00a0In addition to guidance by Castellanos\u00a0Lara, experienced local artists will assist parade participants in planning.\u00a0During the workshops, participants can begin making\u00a0smaller elements at\u00a0the\u00a0CAC.\u00a0To reserve a spot, email\u00a0<u>commartsinfo@clevelandart.org<\/u>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>CMA\u00a0Tent\u00a0Workshops<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturdays and Sundays,\u00a0May 13\u00a0to\u00a0June 4,\u00a01\u00a0to\u00a04\u00a0p.m.,\u00a0and Wednesday,\u00a0June 7,\u00a06\u00a0to\u00a09\u00a0p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Workshop\u00a0pass (one-time fee): first three participants in your group $50\/person; additional participants $25\/person<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The CMA will also hold nine tent workshops\u00a0where participants can\u00a0work with artists in the parade tent\u00a0(adjacent to the museum).
