DETROIT, MI, May 3 and 4, 2023:\u00a0 The Mets<\/em> arrived in Detroit with great fanfare; scheduled to start were two former Tiger pitching stars. Unfortunately for the Mets, the hype did not come to fruition, as the home team Tigers sweep them in 3. The Tigers won the first game 6-5, then followed up by defeating Max Scherzer<\/em>, Starting Right Handed Pitcher (#21) on Wednesday, then 2-0 on Thursday when they defeated Justin Verlander<\/em>, Starting Right Handed Pitcher (#35).<\/p>\n
