\"\"Toledo, OH\u2014 Toledo Opera is holding auditions for small roles and chorus positions for the Broadway musical\u00a0Ragtime\u00a0<\/em>(February – April 2024 commitment), on Saturday, August 12 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Those interested should prepare two arias or Broadway songs, which show off voice and acting ability. In addition, those auditioning must bring a resume, headshot, and sheet music. A pianist will be provided. Auditions will be held at Toledo Opera Offices, 425 Jefferson Ave., Suite 601. Toledo Opera is seeking the following singers:<\/p>\n

Ragtime\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens<\/strong>

\nIn addition to the forty (40) member chorus (SATB), Toledo Opera is seeking performers for the following supporting roles:\u00a0Willie Conklin\u00a0<\/strong>(tenor, bigoted Irish fireman).\u00a0Music rehearsals will begin February 25 and run weekly on Sundays. Additionally, Toledo Opera is seeking performers for the following spoken roles:\u00a0Stanford White\u00a0<\/strong>(50 year old Caucasian architect),\u00a0Harry K. Thaw\u00a0<\/strong>(31 year old Caucasian heir),\u00a0First Officer Henson\u00a0<\/strong>(20-40 year old black male),\u00a0Admiral Peary\u00a0<\/strong>(40-70 year old male),\u00a0Coalhouse\u2019s Followers\u00a0<\/strong>(3) (20-40 year old black males),\u00a0Baron\u2019s Assistant\u00a0<\/strong>(20-50 year old female),\u00a0Bureaucrats\u00a0<\/strong>(2) (20-50 year old white males),\u00a0Black Lawyer<\/strong>,\u00a0White Attorney<\/strong>,\u00a0Clerk<\/strong>,\u00a0Conductor\u00a0<\/strong>(white male),\u00a0Doctor\u00a0<\/strong>(white male),\u00a0Reporter<\/strong>,\u00a0Kathleen\u00a0<\/strong>(Irish servant),\u00a0Policeman\u00a0<\/strong>(white male),\u00a0Newsboys\u00a0<\/strong>(3),\u00a0Fireman\u00a0<\/strong>(20-40 year old white male),\u00a0Welfare Official<\/strong>,\u00a0Harlem Man\u00a0<\/strong>(black male),\u00a0Harlem Woman\u00a0<\/strong>(black female),\u00a0D.A. Whitman\u00a0<\/strong>(40-60 year old white male). Staging rehearsals will begin on April 10 and typically run Monday through Friday\u00a0in the evenings and on Saturdays and Sundays in the afternoons\/evenings.<\/p>\n
