{"id":7249,"date":"2023-08-09T01:13:33","date_gmt":"2023-08-09T01:13:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/?p=7249"},"modified":"2023-08-09T01:13:33","modified_gmt":"2023-08-09T01:13:33","slug":"tartas-laura-koprowski-honored-with-leadership-ohio-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/index.php\/2023\/08\/09\/tartas-laura-koprowski-honored-with-leadership-ohio-award\/","title":{"rendered":"TARTA\u2019s Laura Koprowski honored\u00a0with Leadership Ohio Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7250 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/tarta-laura.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"313\" srcset=\"https:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/tarta-laura.jpg 224w, https:\/\/laprensanewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/tarta-laura-215x300.jpg 215w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/>The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) is proud to share that Chief Executive Officer Laura Koprowski has been named Leadership Ohio\u2019s Visionary Leadership Award honoree for 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The award recognizes a Leadership Ohio graduate who has driven transformative change in their industry by demonstrating exceptional leadership.<\/p>\n<p>In less than 3-1\/2 years at TARTA and less than 2 years as CEO, Koprowski has spearheaded a wave of positive change at the organization, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The return of Sunday and holiday bus service<\/li>\n<li>The introduction of a new on-demand microtransit service, TARTA Flex<\/li>\n<li>Fixed-route service to Holland and Springfield Township for the first time, with the same service expected for Oregon in early 2024<\/li>\n<li>The completion and implementation of TARTA Next, TARTA\u2019s first redesign and service expansion plan in decades<\/li>\n<li>Securing of close to $40 million in competitive grants, including grants for new electric vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Updating of fleet, facilities, signs and shelters<\/li>\n<li>The 2021 passage of a levy changing TARTA\u2019s funding model from a property tax to a sales tax<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Laura has over 25 years of experience in the public transportation industry, and is a frequent passenger on TARTA buses.<\/p>\n<p>Leadership Ohio award winners will be recognized at Homecoming 2023, a reunion of Leadership Ohio alumni slated for Saturday, August 19 at the Residence Inn by Marriott in downtown Columbus. Other honorees include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Community Impact Award: Rayshun Holt, Program Director, Cincinnati Works<\/li>\n<li>Professional Excellence Award: Carolyn Rice, Montgomery County Commissioner<\/li>\n<li>Distinguished Alumni Award: Ohio State Senator Hearcel Craig<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Established in 1992, Leadership Ohio is the start\u2019s first leadership development program. Those taking part in the program attend educational seminars in different parts of the state, following a curriculum designed to elevate leaders\u2019 knowledge, perspective, and connections.
