DETROIT, MI: The Detroit Tigers honored Miguel Cabrera with the \u00a1Fiesta Tigres!\u00a0 Award at Comerica Park on Saturday, August 5, 2023. Cabrera, who\u2019s been with the Tigers for 16 years, hit his 3,140th hit later in the game. \u00a1Fiesta Tigres! <\/em>is an annual event that celebrates Latino Heritage.<\/p>\n

With strong pitching from Tarik Skubal, the Tigers went on to win 4-2 against the Tampa Bay Rays, who started 8 of 9 players that were Latin America. The 9th player, Curtis Mead, Third Baseman (#25) was born in Australia. Jake Rogers led the offensive, with 3 RBI\u2019s. Akil. Baddoo, hit his 6th home run of the season for the additional RBI.<\/p>\n
