The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) wants to make sure everyone\u2019s\u00a0voice is heard on election day by giving customers a free ride to their polling place.<\/p>\n
TARTA, TARPS paratransit services, and TARTA Flex services will be free all day on\u00a0Tuesday, November 7, as part of the Voter Ready With TARTA campaign. At\u00a0tarta.com\/voteready, customers will find resources to help them locate their polling\u00a0place and find which route can get them there.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t want transportation or finances to be a barrier for anyone who wishes to\u00a0exercise their right to vote,\u201d said Rick Bailey, TARTA\u2019s Chief Customer Experience &\u00a0Mobility Officer. \u201cIt\u2019s so important for us to take an active role in bettering the day-today\u00a0lives of the people who depend on us every day, and that certainly includes\u00a0being able to vote on the issues that impact their lives.<\/p>\n
\u201cFare-free rides on election day are a simple step that we can take to make sure that\u00a0as many people as possible have their voice heard. We\u2019re proud to be a part of this\u00a0community, and thrilled to have the opportunity to make it easier for that community\u00a0to vote.\u201d<\/p>\n
TARTA can also get early voters where they\u2019re going for regular fare. Routes 3, 19 and\u00a052 reach the early vote center at Lucas County\u2019s Shared Services building (3737 W.\u00a0Sylvania Avenue). Early voting for this election in Lucas County runs through Sunday,\u00a0November 5.<\/p>\n
