Leopoldo S. Pecina Jr. age 78 of Toledo passed away December 15, 2023, at home. Leopoldo was born to Leopoldo S. Sr and Refugia (San Miguel) Pecina in San Marcos, Texas on November 11, 1945. Family later moved to the Woodville, Genoa, Ohio area, where he grew up. His parents loved parrots and always had a few residing with them.<\/p>\n
As an adult, Leo worked as a tradesman in construction until his retirement. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, camping, and cooking out with his family. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and listening to music, especially Mexican regional such as norte\u00f1o, Tejano, and banda music.<\/p>\n
Leopoldo loved to travel to Tejas y<\/em> La Frontera<\/em> where he had many relatives; Leopoldo is survived by his children Leo Gonz\u00e1les, Lilly, Amparo, Carlos, Polo, Chino Pecina, Leopoldo Dela O, Sonia, Marcos, Justin Pecina, Lluvia Mart\u00ednez, Roman, Victoria and Angelo Pecina; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Esther (Juan) Dionicio, Lily P. L\u00f3pez, Marcos (Lucie) Pecina, Angelo (Mary) Pecina, Refugia (Kookie) Pecina, Mary Ellen Pecina and Pablo S. Pecina; and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n He was preceded in death by his parents Leopoldo Sr. and Refugia; siblings Magdaleno, Andr\u00e9s, Robert, Frank, and Ralph Pecina; brothers and sisters-in-law Juventino L\u00f3pez, Pedro S\u00e1nchez, Dora Castilleja Pecina, Connie O. Pecina, Gloria O. Pecina, and Patrick \u201cPat\u201d Harris.<\/p>\n A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 2 until 8 p.m. at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio.
