\"\"<\/a>As EV industry grows, more skilled techs are needed to service vehicles and charging stations<\/strong><\/p>\n

The rise of electric vehicle (EV) sales has led to a demand for technicians to repair and service EVs and install and maintain residential and commercial charging stations.<\/p>\n

Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C\u00ae) is launching an EV technician program with flexible learning options to address the growing need for skilled technicians.<\/p>\n

“In the rapidly evolving world of electric vehicles, this new program will offer adult learners an entry into 21st-century automotive technology,\u201d said Shana Marbury, executive vice president of Tri-C\u2019s Workforce, Community and Economic Development division. “As this industry continues to grow, Tri-C remains committed to offering innovative programs that provide a pipeline of skilled talent to meet the region\u2019s workforce needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

The training program is fully online and self-paced. Among its features are:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Learn at your own pace, virtual training modules<\/p>\n

\u2022 State-of-the-art simulator software with built-in lab experiments<\/p>\n

\u2022 Web-based curriculum software with interactive content, including labs, videos and online exams<\/p>\n

\u2022 Access to additional online program resources<\/p>\n

In 2015, about 580,000 EVs were sold worldwide. That number rose to 3.5 million EV sales in 2021, with sales projected to reach 40 million by 2030.<\/p>\n

The EV technology program is provided in partnership with George Brown College. The cost for the complete program is $1,750.<\/p>\n
