Dr. Chris Paumi, Director of Lourdes University\u2019s Craft Beverage Program, and Lourdes University student and Maumee Bay Brewing intern, Chad Pridgeon, are working alongside Adam Harrel, Head Brewer at Maumee Bay Brewing, to create one-of-a-kind beers and expand the Lourdes Craft Beverage Program ties within the community.<\/p>\n<p>The group recently created a Belgium-style triple beer that holds a deep gold color, named the \u201cSubstitute Brewer Belgian Triple\u201d. On its menu, Maumee Bay states that the beer has a \u201cmalty sweetness, hints of orange citrus, and a dry finish.\u201d It contains nine percent alcohol by volume (ABV) and ranks at 32 international bitterness units (IBU). It is selling for $7 per pint and $20 per pitcher. The beer hit the taproom in late June and paved the way for the possibility of future collaborations.<\/p>\n<p>With the addition of the collaborative brew, which Dr. Paumi calls \u201ca great patio sipper on a hot day,\u201d comes opportunities for Lourdes. \u201cThis partnership is a great opportunity for the program and for the students.
