This Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, we’re coming together to send a clear message to corporate America and this administration: We Ain’t Buying It.
For eleven months, our communities have faced relentless attacks — mass firings of federal workers, corporate pressure to dismantle DEI, and ICE raids targeting our neighbors. Now, as the government shutdown leaves 42 million people without needed food, corporations like Target, Home Depot, and Amazon continue to profit from policies that harm working families, immigrants, and communities of color. Enough is Enough!
This action is taking direct aim at Target, for caving to this administration’s biased attacks on DEI; Home Depot, for allowing and colluding with ICE to kidnap our neighbors on their properties; and Amazon, for funding this administration to secure their own corporate tax cuts. We’ll send a clear message: until they cease collaborating with this administration’s harmful policies, our dollars will go elsewhere.
We Ain’t Buying It is a coordinated weekend of economic noncooperation (Nov 27–Dec 1), led by a coalition of organizations, workers, and everyday people who believe our values are not for sale. Together, we’ll:
- Highlight the corporations colluding with authoritarian power;
- Withhold spending from major corporate retailers;
- Redirect our resources to mutual aid, small businesses, and Black- and immigrant-owned enterprises; and
- Show the economic and social power of collective restraint.
Day to Day Specific Actions:
Thursday – Don’t Spend a Dime, Spend Family Time
Friday – Blackout Friday: Blackout Black Friday
Saturday – Shop Small Saturday: Shop local, shop Black, shop Immigrant, shop POC
Sunday – Circulate the Dollar: Mutual Aid, support one another
Monday – Cyber Shutdown: digital blackout
