El Centro Hub and CareNet Bring 20+ Organizations and On-Site Screenings to Sofia Quintero Event Center on April 21st 2026
For the second year in a row, El Centro Hub is opening the doors of the Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center to the community.
The 2nd Annual Community Health Fair takes place Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at 1225 Broadway St, Toledo, OH 43609, in the heart of the Old South End. Presented in partnership with Toledo/Lucas County CareNet, the event will bring together more than 20 organizations offering health screenings, direct services, community resources and giveaways, all under one roof, all in one day.
“Our goal is for families to leave with real next steps, and that starts the moment they walk in. We want people to walk out with a screening completed, an appointment scheduled, an application started, or a referral already in motion.” — Belinda Covarrubias, Hub Director, El Centro
ON-SITE HEALTH SCREENINGS PRE-REGISTRATION ENCOURAGED
This year’s fair features three on-site screening services, and community members are strongly encouraged to contact organizers in advance to reserve a spot.
The Mercy Health mobile mammography van will be parked on-site to provide breast cancer screenings. Screenings are billed to insurance. Financial assistance may be available for uninsured patients through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Project (BCCP). To schedule an appointment/to begin the pre-registration process, contact Belinda Covarrubias at hub.sqacc@gmail.com or 419-241-1655.
The University of Toledo Health mobile unit will offer free biometric screenings on-site, including blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, and BMI checks.
Central Outreach Wellness Center will provide confidential STI testing on-site, including rapid HIV, Hepatitis C, and Syphilis tests. If a test comes back positive, staff will connect you to care and services the same day, right there at the event.
WHAT ELSE TO EXPECT
Beyond screenings, attendees can connect with organizations covering mental health, aging, family services, insurance navigation, housing, legal resources, and more. Confirmed organizations include Mercy Health, the Area Office on Aging, YWCA Northwest Ohio, Alzheimer’s Association of NWO, Epilepsy Center of NWO, Toledo Lucas County Public Library, Social Security Administration, and others. Bilingual support in English and Spanish will be available throughout. The event is free and open to all Toledo residents.
El Centro Hub operates year-round out of the Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center, connecting Old South End families to resources in health, housing, education, transportation, and legal services. The health fair is the Hub’s largest community event of the year.
