CLEVELAND, February 3, 2023: CIFF is pleased to announce this year’s Festival theme: LOOK CLOSER, Find Yourself at the 47th Cleveland International Film Festival. Designed by the Emmy award winning team at Type Twenty Seven, the theme invites audiences to seek out connections to diverse cultures and perspectives, while delving into CIFF47 films playing across screens at the iconic Playhouse Square.
Brittyn DeWerth, Creative Director and Owner of Type Twenty Seven, stated: “As we brainstormed the concept for CIFF47, our goal was to showcase the overall atmosphere of the Festival experience. But how do we reflect this when no two visits are the same? The community, the multifaceted offerings, the cinematic experiences—and even those around us—make each interaction different. One visual that continually evolves — a Kaleidoscope. Dating back to 1817, the word ‘kaleidoscope’ literally means ‘observer of beautiful forms.’ Like an image in a Kaleidoscope, the Festival experience is unique to each of us.”
The Festival is thrilled to once again partner with the Emmy award winning, Cleveland-based video production company Fusion Filmworks to produce the highly anticipated CIFF trailer. Sponsored by Jinny and John Johnson, the trailer will be released on Opening Night of CIFF47 on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

Born from the collaborative efforts of Wall to Wall Studios and CIFF, the Festival has launched its new website at clevelandfilm.org. Built with the user experience top of mind, the intuitive navigation streamlines the user journey, while showcasing content in an efficient and effective manner.
CIFF47
CIFF47 will take place March 22-April 1, 2023 at Playhouse Square, followed by CIFF47 Streams, sponsored by PNC, which will take place April 2-9, 2023 online. The Festival lineup will be announced on Friday, March 3, 2023. Tickets go on sale to CIFF members on Monday, March 6, 2023 and to the public on Friday, March 10, 2023.
