Toledo, Ohio, June 16, 2023: The Toledo Boxing Association (T.B.A.) is thrilled to announce the remarkable achievements of its youth boxers at the USA Boxing Junior Olympics & Summer Festival Tournament held in Texas. James Braggs, representing Team TBA, emerged victorious, securing the gold medal in the 90lb Bantam male division.

The entire T.B.A. team displayed incredible skill and determination throughout the tournament, garnering admiration from fellow competitors and spectators alike. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the boxers and coaches for their strong and successful showing.

Among the standout performances were David Urbina, who gained valuable tournament experience, laying the foundation for future success. Angelo Martinez exhibited his talent by securing a tournament win and placing 5th in the 70lb bantam male division. Juan Martinez continued his impressive momentum, finishing 3rd in the 55lb male pee wee division, just one win away from the Championship bout.

The T.B.A. team’s exceptional accomplishments were exemplified by James Braggs, who dominated his way to becoming the 90lb Bantam male division CHAMPION for an astonishing 14th time. With this outstanding victory, James has earned more titles than his own birthdays! We commend James on his extraordinary achievement and applaud his unwavering dedication to the sport.

To commemorate the incredible success of the T.B.A. team, a celebratory event will take place at the Believe Center, the Home of Toledo Boxing Association, on Wednesday, June 21 at 5:30pm. The celebration will include a banquet to honor and recognize the boxers and coaches for their remarkable performances.

In addition to the festivities, the Toledo Boxing Association is currently raising funds in preparation for the Nationals in December 2023. The organization seeks the support of the community and all boxing enthusiasts to help provide opportunities for its talented athletes to compete at the national level.
