Upcoming spring events offer plenty of opportunity for individuals and couples to have an evening of fun while helping to raise funds for local Latino causes and organizations.

The eleventh annual Thank You for Believing dinner event will be held Saturday, April 6, 6 p.m. at the Believe Center, 1 Aurora Gozález Dr. The $25 per person ticket will include dinner, an entertainment showcase, and entry into a $500 raffle. This year’s event benefits El Corazón de México dance troupe, which is scheduled to travel to Florida next January for a performance at Disney World in Orlando to mark the group’s 26th anniversary. The Spanish American Organization (SAO) is planning its Spring Fiesta scholarship dinner fundraiser Tuesday, April 30, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Latins United, 706 S. St. Clair St. Las Voces del Norte will provide live music. Lowrider Café will provide a taco bar alongside a cash bar, silent action, 50-50 raffle, and chance auctions. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Proceeds benefit the annual SAO scholarship program, Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets.

Escuela Smart Academy, 617 Western Ave., is hosting its annual Día del Niño (Children’s Day) event Friday, May 10, 5-8 p.m. The annual fun-filled evening for kids and families features a student talent show, kids’ activities and games, inflatables, food trucks, and raffles. Event organizers emphasize families should bring cash, as not all vendors accept credit cards.

The Believe Center is also hosting a Dia de las Madres (Mother’s Day) Food Truck Rally Friday, May 10, starting at noon. The event is an opportunity to learn more about Believe Center programs. In addition to a chance for families to treat mom to lunch, there will be raffles for the mothers in attendance.

The Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center (SQACC) is hosting its 17th annual dinner fundraiser Entre Amigos (Between Friends) at Nana’s Kitchen, 1225 Broadway St., 5:30 p.m., on Friday, May 17. The event features a Cuban style dinner, activities, and the nonprofit’s new spring art exhibition. There will also be a cash bar, raffle prizes, and shopping available at SQACC’S Tiendita. Ticket prices are $40 per individual, $70 per couple, and $130 for a family of four. Seats can be reserved by either calling 419.241.1655 or visiting www.sqacc.org.
