Members of the Quality of Life committee went knocking on doors in Toledo’s Southend on June 5, 2022. Their goal was to speak with residents about community issues and concerns, and encourage them to participate in the upcoming Quality of Life Community Meeting on Thursday, June 30 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center.
Resident Albert Garcia described a major lack of resources and services in the Latino communities. “To my knowledge, no community organization or city and county representative has ever reached out to our neighborhood doors even though our tax dollars help pay for community resources. You all are the first!”
