September 19, 2022: Lorain Public Library System has announced the addition of Melissa Perez Ramirez, Donor Relations Officer for the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, as the latest member of their Board of Trustees.

Ramirez will be filling the term originally belonging to Col. Keith Belanger, who left the Board prior to his term ending due to moving out of the service district. Ramirez’s term will expire December 31, 2024.

“We are very fortunate to have Melissa Perez Ramirez serve on the Lorain Library Board of Trustees,” says Board President Gloria Badillo, ND. “Melissa is a long time Lorain County resident with a set of skills and abilities that will definitely serve the LPLS Board of Trustees well.”

An Avon resident, Ramirez also recently sat on the City of Avon’s Charter Review Commission.

“I’m incredibly grateful to join the board for the Lorain Public Library System and work with the team to help meet their goals and the needs of the community,” says Ramirez. “I can remember being a bookish kid walking into the Main Library with my grandma every summer and I’m ecstatic to pay it forward and help create a similar experience for patrons of all ages.”

In addition to Ramirez, the 2022 Lorain Public Library System Board of Trustees includes Board President Gloria Badillo, ND., Vice President Monica Snipes, Secretary Tiffany McClelland and members Richard Ackerman, Ethel Schiemann and Milagros Torres. Together, they represent and advocate the interests of the entire Lorain Public Library System service district.
