The Lucas County CASA Program will be holding in person and virtual meetings for those who are interested in volunteering. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a non-profit organization that consists of volunteers that are every day citizens who assist the juvenile court judges to advocate for children that have been neglected/abused. The Lucas County CASA program has operated since 1980 and is the first program in Ohio, and it is one of the oldest CASA programs nationwide. CASA volunteers make sure every child is in a safe environment, stable home, and give the opportunity to flourish. You must be 21 years of age to become a volunteer, and complete an extensive background check. Prospective volunteers are encouraged to apply now as the process to become a volunteer is time consuming. The volunteer application is available online at CasaKids.net.
