As the Toledo Mud Hens take on the rest of the International League, the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) is excited to roll out another option to see them in person.

In addition to regular service that runs near Fifth Third Field on game days, TARTA announces the return of the Muddy Shuttle, which will allow fans to park at area locations and take an inexpensive ride directly to and from Saturday home games in June, July and August.

The Muddy Shuttle was reintroduced Monday, May 22, 2023 outside the home plate gate at Fifth Third Field.

Bringing back this fan favorite was done in partnership with the Mud Hens and fulfills one of the promises made during TARTA Next public engagement sessions. Sites for Muddy Shuttle locations were carefully determined by analyzing past ridership numbers and Mud Hens ticket sales by zip code.

Mud Hens fans will be able to park at several area locations and enjoy a ride to and from the game for $3 round-trip. First pitch for each game is set for 7:05 p.m., and shuttles will leave one hour before game time from:

 Miracle Mile Shopping Center, 1727 West Laskey Road

 Maumee, Lucas County Recreation Center, 2901 Key Street

 Sylvania, Centennial Terrace, 5733 Centennial Road

 Waterville, Kroger, 8730 Waterville Swanton Road

 Oregon, Fassett Junior High School, 3205 Starr Avenue (June) or Starr Elementary School, 3230 Starr Avenue (July and August)

“During our public engagement sessions for TARTA Next, the Muddy Shuttle is something we heard a lot about from a number of people who found it convenient,” said TARTA CEO Laura Koprowski. “We’re happy to bring it back as we explore the possibility of expanding on it and doing what we can to connect customers with this great stadium and the family-friendly atmosphere that the Mud Hens provide.

“The improvements made at TARTA over the last two years have been about removing barriers to people enjoying the things Toledo has to offer. We see this as an extension of that, as customers from all over the area can enjoy the Mud Hens and let us do the driving.”

The Muddy Shuttle will be in action on the following dates:

 June 10 vs. Buffalo Bisons

 June 24 vs. St. Paul Saints

 July 8 vs. Louisville Bats

 July 22 vs. Lehigh Valley IronPigs

 August 12 vs. Columbus Clippers

 August 19 vs. Omaha Royals

Shuttles back to parking locations will leave Fifth Third Field either 20 minutes after the game ends or 20 minutes after post-game fireworks conclude. Shuttles will arrive and leave from the home plate entrance to the stadium on Huron Street.
