On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, Rosendo “Fuzzy” Flores, father of five children, passed away at the age of 79.
Rosendo graduated from Woodville High School in 1963 and married his beautiful wife María Obregon-Flores on June 13, 1970. He enjoyed spending time with his family, dancing with his wife, and taking photographs. He often had a camera around his neck capturing all of the Flores family adventures.
Rosendo served in the United States Army and was a part of the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He was also trained as a radio operator while serving in Vietnam for two years, attaining the rank of sergeant. He was a proud veteran.
He worked for over 20 years at Toledo Edison and after he retired continued to work helping local residents with their electrical needs. Having no fear of heights, he would volunteer to work on the High Level Bridge for electrical repairs
Rosendo is survived by, son Rosendo Jr., son John (Nichole) Flores, and daughter, Jessica (Brian) Tokar. He is survived by his brothers, Florencio (Aracelia) Flores, Arturo (Vivian) Flores, Hector (Florence) Flores Sr., and sister María (Jonathan) Dandar. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael, Derek, Kenny, Rosemary, Jeremy (Samantha), Julia, Isabel, Abigail, Nicholas, along with great-grandchildren Phoebe, Mya, Declan, and Mason.
He is preceded in death by his wife María Obregon-Flores and his daughters, Anna and Rosemary. Also preceding him in death are his parents, Florencio and Agustina (Mesa) Flores Sr.; his brother José Flores, his sisters Blanca Sample and Jane Boggs; and his great-grandson Leo.
The family would like to express their gratitude to St. Charles and Regency Hospitals for the care they provided to Rosendo in his final days.
